We have some amazing people working here at Soda Inc. including our current Management Studies Intern, Xanthe Garahy. In this Q&A style staff profile, you will get to learn about why Xanthe would be a giraffe if she could, what she needs to apologise to her mum for, where she would travel if she could and much more.

Who inspires you?

Those who have succeeded in life despite growing up in a disadvantaged environment. The lengths people have gone to in order to improve their lives or others is often times unbelievable. It inspires and encourages me to use my privileges I clearly have, to make something of myself and to help pull those around me up higher.

What’s the best concert you ever attended?

Six60 / Drax Project / Sons of Zion - Western Springs Stadium.

If you could be any animal, which would you be and why?

Giraffe. I’m quite short and never pass up the opportunity of a pair of shoulders at a concert – it’s unfair how much more tall people can see!

What’s your favourite business book/podcast?

21 Lessons for the 21st Century – Yuval Noah Harari.

What are you passionate about?

Filling my life with as many memories, adventures, and challenges as possible.

What’s your favourite movie?

The Shawshank Redemption.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

The first time I rode a motorbike alone was when I drove 4+ hours along Vietnams busiest highways and dodgiest back roads, sorry Mum!

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

I don’t really watch Netflix, if I do watch something it’s The Office or a cheeky TED talk.

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been before, where would it be?

Blue Lagoon, Iceland.

Which four people, living or dead, would you most like to eat dinner with? What kind of dinner party would it be?

Representatives from religious groups; Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

Unsure how it would play out, probably not great, but would make a good story. Chuck an atheist in the mix and it would be even more entertaining!

If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?

Yellow.
