IGNITE Waikato
Are you a Waikato entrepreneur with a brilliant business idea or a small business owner keen to grow and take your startup to new heights? Our eight-week business fundamentals programme will teach you everything you need to know about starting and running a successful business. Our experienced and trained Soda facilitators and business experts will guide you through each step of the journey.
What does it cover?
Session 1 (11 Oct): Introduction, business planning and understanding your customer.
Session 2 (18 Oct): Competitors and value proposition; local story from successful business owner.
Session 3 (25 Oct): Marketing: digital tools and building a marketing strategy; local story from successful business owner.
Session 4 (1 Nov): Business structures: legals, accounting and insurance; expert speaker on workshop topic.
Session 5 (8 Nov): Financials: understanding costs, pricing, and break-even; expert speaker on workshop topic.
Session 6 (15 Nov): Financials: understanding the basics of cash flow and financial forecasting expert speaker on workshop topic.
Session 7 (online): How to pitch: pitch fundamentals and practice.
Session 8 (4 Dec): Pitch night.

Dates and cost
Ignite Waikato is an eight-week in-person programme followed by a pitch night. It runs weekly for eight weeks.
Start date: 11 October (for eight weeks)
Time: 5.30-7.30pm
Pitch night: 4 December
Location: Soda, Wintec, Hamilton
Cost
The programme costs $349 per business and up to two people per business can attend.
