Director profile: Kim Hill
Now that we’ve introduced our amazing in-house team here at Soda Inc. we thought it was time to introduce our awesome board members. Kim Hill is next in line.
In this Q&A style profile find out the lengths Kim went to to get a pet chimpanzee, why she’d be a dolphin if she could, why she told John Key to watch where he was going and more.
Who inspires you?
Wow! What a tough question, because I find that I get inspiration from so much and I believe inspiration surrounds us everywhere if you are open to seeing it. So, my answer is really from so, so, so many things, people and places. You can find inspiration everywhere.
What’s the best concert you ever attended?
I love love live music, however if I need to choose I would say off the top of my head Prince, he was a master at performance, and SIX60 they are GREAT live.
If you could be any animal, which would you be and why?
Umm gosh I am such an animal lover. When I was 10 I wanted to have my very own chimpanzee, my mother often reminds me of this, and I went to great lengths to see if it was possible, such as writing to the Auckland zoo to ask how I would go about getting one. Needless to say, I was not successful.
So what would I be? I would say a Dolphin, because I have always loved them, been amazed by them and they have a feeling of freedom to roam the ocean, they are protectors, very majestic, knowledgeable and graceful.
*Disclaimer: I wrote this before I read Rach’s, umm we have a bit in common Rach.
What’s your favourite business book/podcast?
I love books and I have every business book imaginable, however if I was to say which business book or podcast that first springs to mind is The monk who sold his Ferrari by Robin Sharma, and I love his podcasts too!
What are you passionate about?
Having survived some pretty big life changing surgeries, I am simply passionate about living life on purpose and seizing all life has to offer, the good and not so good. I am passionate about so much that I don’t know where to start. Mostly I think life should be full of adventure.
What’s your favourite movie?
Gosh, I can think of so many from deep and meaningful to quirky and crazy.
Perhaps anything with Channing Tatum and no top on or Matthew McConaughey.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Some things simply need to stay secrets… LOL.
Okay, maybe bumping into John Key in Britomart and telling him to watch where he was going because he walked right into me and I was completely oblivious to who he was. I was just in Kimmy’s world.
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Dead To Me
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been before, where would it be?
One of my dreams is that I could simply embark on a journey of all the best beaches in the world.
However, if I am to pick one at this moment it would be Tibet. That is on my bucket list.
Which four people, living or dead, would you most like to eat dinner with?
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
