Soda Inc. is proud to introduce one of our newest Soda LIFT incubation clients: Kiyara Health

Roheeni Bhana has been accepted into our LIFT programme with her start-up Kiyara Health.

Roheeni’s goal is to provide cutting edge practice management software in a cloud based solution.

The idea is to empower patients to view and update their own personal information in order to reduce clinic administration and give practitioners visible views of the entire patient lifecycle.

Roheeni met her mentor Julia Chambers for the first-time last week.

Julia is a dynamic individual with over 20 years’ experience at a senior level in the technology sector including extensive Pharma-Bio-MedTech-Digital Health industry coverage. Her passions include helping high growth technology companies and innovative businesses to thrive on the global stage and investing in the future of a diversified New Zealand economy - nurturing start-ups and the next generation of world-class entrepreneurs. While the pair were talking business here at Soda Inc. we asked them a few questions, read on to learn a little more about them.

Roheeni:

What got you into your line of work and how did you end up where you are?

I caught the IT bug which saw me working as an Implementation and Development Consultant within the Human Resources Software arena. However, I mingled with a few clinicians during this time and learnt there was a very dire need for allied health to become part of the health ecosystem. This prompted me to shift focus to the Health Sector as I saw an opportunity to create a patient and clinician focused app.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this process with Soda and each other as mentor or start-up?

I am looking forward to gaining some valuable entrepreneurial skills and the confidence from my mentor as I am a solo founder in a very demanding sector. I am also looking forward to meeting like-minded founders who have the same passion and understanding of being a start-up.

Tell me something not everyone knows about you?

It has been a hard long hard road getting to MVP and I have had to learn some hard lessons along the way. However, despite the uphill battle, I believe I have managed to develop something special with the help of my awesome team, the clinicians and key contacts within the health sector.

Julia:

What got you into your line of work and how did you end up where you are?

Curiosity! It’s my one and only super power.

What are you looking forward to getting out of this process with Soda and each other as mentor or start-up?

I’m passionate about helping develop the next generation of kiwi entrepreneurs, especially when its women in tech.

Tell me something not everyone knows about you?

I love music and I love to dance.
