We have some amazing people working here at Soda Inc. including our Communications & Events Coordinator Kyra Piccione. In this Q&A style staff profile, you will get to learn about the best concert Kyra has ever been to, what animal she’d like to be, why she watches Titanic once every year and much more.
Who inspires you?
Freddie Mercury, Val McDermid, and Dave Grohl are probably my biggest inspirations. Freddie because he wasn’t afraid to be himself. Val because she is an incredible writer. Grohl because he never gave up his dream.
What’s the best concert you ever attended?
The Foo Fighters, 2015, Mt Smart Stadium – I wrote about it and it became my first ever published article.
If you could be any animal, which would you be and why?
An Ocelot. They are fierce and beautiful.
What’s your favourite business book/podcast?
Podcast: How I Built This with Guy Raz – The Lonely Planet interview is my favourite so far.
Book: I haven’t read many business books, but my favourite book would either be Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, or In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, or The Wire in the Blood by Val McDermid.
What are you passionate about?
Writing, reading, family, my cats. Happiness.
What’s your favourite movie?
Titanic – I watch it once a year without fail. The themes are on point: perseverance, freedom, confinement, class, society, sexism and love. And the story is very well done. I cry every time.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
That I can write in this? Probably, skydiving.
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and Doctor Who.
If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been before, where would it be?
Antarctica or Chur, Switzerland.
Which four people, living or dead, would you most like to eat dinner with? What kind of dinner party would it be?
It would be a garden party under a canopy of blossom trees with fairy lights and there would be lots of fresh fruit and veg everywhere. And whiskey. Lots of whiskey. And we’d all be dressed as fairies.
If you were a crayon, what colour would you be?
