Fieldays and SODA have co-created an exciting new event with the launch of the Fieldays Innovation Den – Powered by SODA Inc.  This event will saw 12 New Zealand inventors pitching to a high profile panel of investors and business leaders in the hope of securing advice and investment.

Cheryl Reynolds | CEO | SODA

SODA CEO, Cheryl Reynolds will lead an esteemed panel of Judges at the first Fieldays Innovation Den. Cheryl, an experienced business leader both nationally and internationally, has called upon her fast networks to create a high-powered judging panel for this year’s event. When SODA opened its doors in 2009, Cheryl was invited to become its founding CEO, which she says has to be one of the best jobs in the world. SODA is Cheryl's 10th successful start-up business. 
 
 
 

DR. Ray Thomson | Chair | Angel Association NZ

Dr Ray Thomson is a professional director based in Auckland. He is currently the chairman of Manuka Health New Zealand and a director of the listed company Wellington Drive Technologies. He has recently stepped down as a director of the Crown Research Institute, Industrial Research Limited (IRL).  Dr Thomson has been involved in a number of venture capital and angel investments over the past 20 years and is currently a member of the Auckland Ice Angels Advisory Board.  Ray has had extensive experience as a company director with an aggregate of over 30 years' experience as a director of listed companies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
 
 

Neil Richardson | Investor | NZ Homeloans

Neil Richardson has a diverse and successful track-record over thirty years of business life.  This involves an unusual and comprehensive record of skills, experience and achievements in business management, marketing, enterprise governance, investment, advisory/consulting and academic pursuits.  It has been applied as multi-skilled expertise in a diverse range of situations and responsibilities covering start-ups, multi-national corporations, joint-ventures, government/public sector and not-for-profits across many industries, markets and countries.  
Neil is currently Chairman/Shareholder of New Zealand Home Loans and SmartTrade and is on the Board of Opportunity Hamilton and Child Matters.  He is also a Co-Founder/Major investor in Endace and Imarda.  He was previously Chairman of OHL, Visique, Norris Ward McKinnon, AgResearch and The Foundation for Research Science and Technology and Director of WEL Energy. 
 
 

Bill Murphy | Executive Director | Enterprise Angels 

Bill has 25 years business experience gained in roles as a business owner, business investor, General Manager, CFO, accountant and business advisor in businesses in the US, UK and New Zealand.

Bill is Executive Director at Enterprise Angels, the Bay of Plenty's Angel Investment Forum, which is now the second biggest Angel Investment group in New Zealand. In this role, Bill takes startup businesses and businesses requiring capital and prepares them for 'pitching' before Enterprise Angels members, a group of experienced and wealthy business owners and investors.

 

Darren Hooper | Head of Rural & Education Segment Marketing | Vodafone 

Over 15 years within the Communications industry. Senior Manager with strong leadership qualities. Ability to extract the best from a team and drive results. 

Through 2009 to 2011 he was a member of the judging panel for the National Business Awards in the UK.This is the most prestigious award ceremony for business and attended by the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Deputy Prime Minister.
